Bias Pot Modification
Basic Information
It has been rumored that the power output of the Jupiter can be increased to 150 - 200 Watts by tweaking the Bias (POWER) pot. Several operators who frequent the Ten-Tec nets can be heard operating Jupiters that have been modified in this manner.

DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THE BIAS (POWER) POT!Absolutely the worst thing a person could do as it will take the Jupiter (Pegasus) out of spec for a lousy 1/2 an S unit. By changing the [bias] pot it takes the Jupiter (Pegasus) out of linearity and there is no accurate ALC control. On 10 meters it will really screw things up. If properly set it will be just fine and meet all specs with proper ALC. So my answer is for everyone to keep their fingers out of it.73, Stan |
